Meet Your Instructor
Karen (Kacey) R. Carnegie is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. She graduated from T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, cum laude, in May 2008, after receiving her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in Sociology and Business Administration in 2004 from Longwood University.

Kacey began working with Dominic Lascara in August 2004 as a paralegal in the real estate post-closing department. She was employed by Dominic P. Lascara, PLC as a law clerk until October 2008. At that time, she was admitted to practice law in the State of Virginia and joined the firm as an associate attorney. In September 2012, Kacey opened her own practice, Karen Robins Carnegie, PLC, in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Kacey's practice is primarily in the areas of commercial and residential landlord/tenant law, residential real estate, business and corporate law, contract law, wills, trusts and the probate of estates, elder law, family law and general litigation.

Kacey serves her community as a member of the Deep Creek Ruritan Club. She is a member of the Virginia Young Lawyer's Division of the Virginia State Bar. Kacey was a recipient of the 2007 Fred A. Crowder Memorial Scholarship at the University of Richmond. This scholarship is awarded to a third year law student who shows promise in the practice of real estate law. She has given numerous presentations to the Virginia Housing Development Authority's First Time Homebuyer's Course on the Loan Closing Process. She is also an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Departmenat Bryant and Stratton College in Virginia Beach.
